BRIAN 'BJ' CALDWELL'S

SOLO CIRCUMNAVIGATION

THE CALDWELL CAMPAIGN...
began June 1 1995 when BJ Caldwell, age 19, began a journey of 27,000 miles to become the youngest person to sail around the world alone. 1995 marks the 100th anniversary of the first historic solo circumnavigation of the world by Joshua Slocum. Today a young man stands on the threshhold of history. BJ, of Honolulu Hawai`i, will duplicate the Slocum voyage, except BJ will cover 27,000 in one year. He will be the youngest person ever to accomplish this feat. No one presently holds this record. Previous challenges were disqualified by the Guiness Book of World Records.

ABOUT BRIAN 'BJ' CALDWELL
In 1985, at the age of nine, BJ Caldwell began living a dream when his parents set sail on a journey throughout the South Pacific. After six years the family claimed to have learned more than their previous lives put together. Today, BJ has over 60,000 nautical miles of cruising and racing experience.

In addition to six trans Pacific voyages, he recently completed the trans Atlantic ARC Race. Out of 153 entries, his boat finished third. Ever since he returned from the South Pacific it's been BJ's dream to sail alone around the world. If that's not enough, he'll compete in the Mini-Transat, Figaro, BOC and Vendee Globe Challenge!
