conditions reported as winds gusting to 20 kts, seas 4-6 feet

at 1159 HST, appx 2.5 mi to Diamond Head, with 4.2 to the finish line
it was still Lanikai out in front,
with Outrigger Haw gaining on an inside course,
Team NZ was in 3rd appx 1/2 mi behind, followed by Outrigger Aus? or Kai Opua in 4th,
Waikiki Beach Boys in 5th, with Maitai Shell in 6th....

Positions of the 1st 6 had been holding fairly steady to this point,
as the front of the pack approached the final right turn to Fort DeRussy Beach
however, the race tween Lanikai and Outrigger Haw was intensifying
Outrigger, hugging tight inside, surged ahead on the tidal currents sweeping
past the 'front yard' of OCC's clubhouse, overtaking Lanikai in the final minutes of the race
one of the tightest finish battles this race has seen in a while!
